LIGHTING FOR MOOD WORKSHOP IN THE INTERNATIONAL DEPARTMENT 2015-2016 PROGRAM
This course attended by students of Master of Fine Arts 2nd year and Bachelor of Fine Arts 3rd year have focused the camera techniques on the correlation between lighting for film and digital. The master class composed by 10 students lasted 5 days during the first week of march.
Students, directed by Michael HOFSTEIN who is director of photography of both the International film industry and the Los Angeles film and television community, have tested and presented the picture film techniques and aesthetics media. He was assisted by his wife Marian GREEN HOFSTEIN, a professional Hollywood woman stunt.

Several discussions included in the workshop week have covered camera angles uses, screen direction, lenses, among others and framing and composition when shooting for mood, action and stunts. During this workshop, students have become more familiar withplacement and quality of lighting to establish imagery that evoked character mood and emotion thanks to the EICAR grip equipment and advanced lighting.
Through analytical and hands on applications in photography and the uses of class assignments, the filmmaker team has developed the scene lighting to create an environment enhancing the story. Their practical demonstration, by staging the shadow and lights uses, advanced forms of visualization and principles of exposure, show the visual effects performance. Both the process and the action cinematography finished product are privileged by external instructor who evaluate student during the master class time.
