It's a wrap! The French as a Foreign Launguage & Audiovisual Program celebrates the end of the 25-26 academic year

EICAR’s French as a Foreign Language and Audiovisual Program (FLE) is designed not only to help international students achieve a strong command of the French language, but also to provide them with essential filmmaking skills. The program prepares students to continue their studies confidently within EICAR’s French-speaking programs while gaining valuable hands-on experience in audiovisual production.

A program balancing language learning and technical skills
The FLE Program is often the first step for international students who wish to join one of EICAR’s French-speaking programs but do not yet have the required level of French proficiency. Throughout the year, students work toward obtaining the DELF B2 or DALF C1 diploma, depending on their starting level, while also producing a short film in French.
From pre-production to post-production, students follow filmmaking courses taught entirely in French. This immersive approach allows them to strengthen their language skills while developing practical knowledge of audiovisual production and collaborating on a creative project.
A preparatory year for life at EICAR
The FLE Program offers much more than classroom learning. Throughout the year, students have opportunities to participate in school events, student projects, internships, and excursions organized by EICAR and its student clubs. It is a year dedicated not only to improving language proficiency but also to discovering campus life and gaining insight into the film and audiovisual industries.
Thanks to EICAR’s partnerships with various companies, festivals, and professional events, FLE students are regularly invited to participate in industry-related activities. These experiences provide valuable opportunities to practice French in real-life situations while expanding their understanding of the cinema and audiovisual sectors.

This year, 10 out of 12 students successfully obtained their DELF B2 diploma. Following the completion of the program, students have chosen to continue their studies in various EICAR programs, including the Bachelor Réalisation Cinéma & Audiovisuel, the Année Intensive – Techniques du Son, and the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Filmmaking.
