International Creativity in Action: EICAR Paris Summer Workshop 2025

Every summer, EICAR Paris opens its doors to aspiring filmmakers from around the world for an unforgettable cinematic journey. This year’s Summer Workshop brought together a group of international participants who embraced the challenge of creating two short films—each in a completely different genre.
From script to screen, participants dove into the full filmmaking process, while also experiencing the richness of French film culture. The result? Two original, creative works that reflect the talent, energy, and collaboration of this year’s cohort.
Bravo to everyone involved for bringing your unique stories to life!

International Talents, One Shared Passion
Participants came from all over the world, bringing diverse perspectives and storytelling styles. Despite their different backgrounds, they all shared one common goal: to explore the art of filmmaking in a dynamic, hands-on environment. This spirit of international collaboration is at the heart of EICAR’s programs throughout the year, and the Summer Workshop offers participants a unique and immersive preview of what it’s like to study at an international film school in Paris. At the end of the workshop, each participant received an official EICAR certificate, recognizing their creative work and engagement throughout the workshop.
Two Films, Two Worlds
This year’s workshop led to the creation of two short films in entirely different genres, allowing participants to challenge themselves creatively. One was a 6-minute comedy shot entirely on campus, making playful use of the familiar environment. The other was an 8-minute poetic film shot on location outdoors, featuring just two actors and a more introspective, artistic tone.
Both productions included the collaboration of current EICAR students, who joined the workshop participants as part of the technical crew and cast. With a full team behind each project, actors, directors, camera operators, sound designers, and editors, the films truly reflected a collective effort and a dynamic, professional set experience.

A Taste of French Cinema Culture
Beyond filmmaking, students immersed themselves in the heart of Paris and its cinematic heritage. During the Summer Workshop, they explored some of the city’s most iconic film-related locations, including visits to renowned institutions like the Cinémathèque Française. Through cultural outings, film screenings, and collaboration, they got a firsthand look at what makes French cinema so unique and influential.
