EICAR Alumnus Igor Gotesman Signs a Series for Netflix!

After Marseille, Osmosis, and Plan Cœur, streaming giant Netflix releases this Friday, June 28, its fourth series Made in France, Family Business. It is Igor Gotesman, a former EICAR student, who signs this new production, starring actors Gérard Darmon and Jonathan Cohen.

First Steps Towards Cinema

Igor Gotesman trained in the Film and Television Directing program. After graduating from EICAR in 2008, he directed the short film Thinx.

Then in 2012, he directed the short film Five, featuring actor François Civil (Call My Agent, The Wolf's Call, Love at Second Sight). In 2016, he adapted the screenplay into a feature film, which also starred Pierre Niney (It Boy, Yves Saint Laurent, Promise at Dawn) and actress Margot Bancilhon (Calls, Ami-ami, In Their Hands). Presented at the International Comedy Film Festival of Alpe d'Huez, this first feature film was a great success with both critics and the public, amassing nearly 720,000 admissions.

Mastering his career as both a screenwriter and director, Igor Gotesman also demonstrates his acting talents, appearing in his own films as well as those of others. In 2018, he appeared in A Man in a Hurry by Hervé Mimran, alongside Fabrice Luchini and Leïla Bekhti, and in Edmond, the first film by Alexis Michalik, an adaptation of the play that won 5 Molières in 2017.

Today, the director returns with the series Family Business, streaming exclusively on Netflix.
